The House of Europe in Rhodes, under the shield of the Prefecture of the Dodecanese, in the Conference Hall of the Ηotel School of Rhodes, Hotel Thermai, organized a: “Tribute to Russia”.

Mrs. Phaedra Malandri, professor of the Russian language in Rhodes and member of the House of Europe, translated while a film on Moscow and was being projected.

The founding members and members of the Directing Committee, Mrs. Marilena Sokianou and Mrs. Anna Haritou, presented a “Retrospective view into Russian History”.

Mrs. Vera Stepanienco (invited to Rhodes for this event), Director of the Department of Foreign Languages at the University of Lomonosov made a presentation of the University while another film was also being projected.

Russian immigrants, living in Rhodes, have contributed to the success of this event performing music and dancing and traditional songs by a Russian tenor, entertained the audience.

A very rich Russian buffet, courteously prepared by immigrants in Rhodes and members of the board, was duly “appreciated” by all.
