Project: MARE NOSTRUM
Objectives:
– To contribute to public awareness and safeguarding and enhancement of Mediterranean port cities, including archaeological sites located along the Phoenician maritime routes, in a continuity between past and present;
– To promote citizen participation in initiatives to promote the Mediterranean port cities as available spaces; – To promote the rediscovery and development of tangible and intangible local heritage;
– To strengthen and direct the actions of local authorities in the reclassification of tangible and intangible heritage of their respective areas;
– To propose new port city plans showing the past-present continuity and integrating the existing urban fabric with archaeological sites
– To promote the Mediterranean handcraft in order to preserve forms and production.
