The 1st part of the “Diptych on Greek Culture”, organized by The House of Europe in Rhodes, on Wednesday, April 10th, 2013 at 19.00, in the conference room of “AKTAEON” was a very interesting presentation of the archaeologist, former Head of the Department of Proof, Inventory and Publication of Archaeological Finds of the KB Direction of Prehistoric and Classic Archaeology of the Dodecanese, Mrs Anastasia Dreliossi – Herakleidou on the following issue: «Symposiums and Meals in Ancient Rhodes».
In a conference room full with people, the speaker has explained how the Symposiums were organized in the comfortable and luxurious houses of the ancient city of Rhodes, the consistance of the meals offered, the kinds of bread offered to the guests, the various kinds of wine served, the customs and habits of the Rhodians in the ancient times.
