The House of Europe in Rhodes organizes a special tribute to Japan, known as the Land of the Rising Sun. This event, which is held under the auspices of the Japanese Embassy and is organized with the support of the Municipality of Rhodes and in particular the Museum of Modern Greek Art will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2013, at 11.00 am in “Nestorideion Melathro”, and the entrance will be free to the public.
The event will begin with the screening of a short film that will be a first contact with Japan of today and yesterday. Ms. Mao Shimizu, third secretary of the Embassy, responsible for political, economic and ceremonial matters will make the presentation of the country in Greek.
The Athletic Club of our city Shotokan, will hold a demonstration of Japanese martial arts, especially karate.
At the end of the event, Mr. Nick Thyris, will offer traditional sushi and sashimi sa as to give participants the opportunity to get a taste of Japanese cuisine.
In the area of the Plaza Gabriel Haritos, in front of the Museum, Mr. Michael Chatzikostantakis and Bicyclic Center Motomike, one of the sponsors of the event, will present the latest models of the top Japanese company YAMAHA.
