The young rodian pianist Fani Kambouri offered us a magical night at the first Music Night which was held on Thursday, September 18th, 2014, in the renewed area of the house in the Medieval City. The musical evening was titled “European Composers in Cinema” and was co-organized by the Conservatory A. Corelli.
Almost a hundred attendees listened and sung favourite melodies from films like The Godfather, Love Story, Amelie, and compositions from foreign composers such as Manos Hatzidakis,Nino Rota, Frédéric Chopin and Dmitri Shostakovich. Fani was accompanied by her piano teacher and founder of the Conservatory Corelli, Anthi Karatzia and the composer and soloist guitar Savvas Karatzias, director of the Conservatory. Also, students of the Conservatory, Andreas-Nicholas Hatzimichalis, George Dramountanis and Stamatis Papamihail, interpreted the famous theme music from the films of James Bond.
Among the distinguished attendees was the new President of the Municipal Culture and Sport Agency, Mr. Sergios Aivazis, the executive Regional Director in Entrepreneurship matters, Mr. Panagiotis Kounakis, the President of the Cultural Association of Women in Rhodes, Ms. Chrysanthi Pappou, and the President of the Cultural Association Apollona “New Horizons”, Mr. Manolis Kyriazakos.
