How is the future of the European Union shaped by the decision on Brexit and the refugee issue? Can Europe provide solutions to the problems of the neighborhood? What role for the US? What is the human dimension of the subject and how do we perceive it over time?

The House of Europe in Rhodes in cooperation with the European Center Robert Schuman (CERS) is organizing a workshop on “Europe then: Challenges and Opportunities” in Rhodes on 14/10/2016, Friday, at 20:00, in the guest room of Sainte Katherine.

The event will be coordinated by Professor of International Law, Mrs. Paroula Naskou-Perraki.

They will participate with suggestions:

  • “Towards a new balance of power? The prospect of rebalancing Europe and the role of the United States”

Sotiris Serbos, Assistant Professor of International Politics at the Democritus University of Thrace

  • “Islam, terrorism and the consequences for Europe”

Vasilios Grammatikas, Assistant Professor of International Law at the Democritus University of Thrace

  • “Europe in the face of the challenge of refugee flows”

Miltiadis Sariyannidis, Assistant Professor of International Law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

An open debate will follow.
