Congratulatory mission to the Ephorate of Antiquities of Dodecanese sent the Boarding Council of the House of Europe in Rhodes to award the Bastion of the Grand Master’s Palace Bastion with the European Union Heritage Award 2017 by Europa Nostra.
More specifically, the text states:
Dear Ms. Michaelidou,
We were delighted to read the news of the award-winning work of Restoration of the Palace of the Grand Master with the European Union’s Heritage Award from Europa Nostra for 2017.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the House of Europe in Rhodes, its members and friends, we congratulate you and declare our excitement and our thanks to the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Dodecanese for having your work placed Rhodes high again, on the map with the best efforts to maintain common ground European Heritage.
We wholeheartedly hope that you, as well as your worthy associates, continue to maintain this unique World and European Heritage Site and to constantly open other sites for use in the local community, to the admiration and experience of the citizens and visitors of Rhodes.
Note that the House already has two major events in the Bastion area: participation in the organization of the 1st Architectural Walk in October 2015 and hosting the Rhodes Model Regional Co-operation 2016 Closing Ceremony in October 2016.
