A few words about the book

Our world is at a turning point. New geo-economic and geopolitical correlations appear to be emerging, but a clear trend of its future direction has not yet been apparent. The world is unpredictable and chaotic. To explore this issue, the book attempts to highlight the critical problems, threats and challenges that define new geopolitical correlations and the evolution of the international system. The old and new threats and challenges that will play an important role in security and progress in the world are examined. Thus, topics such as the threat of climate change, energy transition, technological innovation, digitization and cyberspace in the economy, social, geo-economic and geopolitical relations, migration, international terrorism and the role of Islamic fanaticism in geopolitics are analyzed.

New geo-economic correlations are also presented and factors that destabilize globalization are analyzed, such as financial crises, inequality, tax evasion, corruption, populism and nationalism. Finally, the issue of the governance of globalization is also addressed.
